Drawing on various versions of philosophy of culture, we came to the conclusion that comprehension of cultural meanings is mainly based on visual experience. One of characteristic features of contemporary cultural space is its transformation into a screen where reality is constructed through visual images. Screen language does not contain any completed reflection. At the same time, it provides an impetus for analogies and makes references to other texts, cultures, symbols, and values. Visual culture gives birth to a new type of a human being - homo telematics, completely engrossed into a screen reality and saturated with screen images.
