The scientific results of existing analytical researches that reflect the thematic conceptual contradiction between the information and the interactionist approaches to the media phenomena are analyzed. The essential features, functions of different media and components of the contemporary media systems such as the social media and the new electronic media that have positive and negative influence toward society, social groups and individuals are investigated. Devoted that under conditions of globalization the contemporary media systems are in the situation of their intensive transformation and institutional division. The problem of the functional status of the social media which become the important interactive cultural resource of people's everyday life now is the most disputable question among scholars was analyzed. The differences between the "traditional" and the "new media" were researched and this research provided opportunity for evaluation the media influence toward the arts and the creative processes in the cultural space. The arising significance of the social media in the contemporary Ukrainian society in the developments of art culture, cinema-production, entertainment and musical programs is underlined.
