The processes of ignition, burning, and extinction of two-fraction of carbon particles suspensions in air are studied. Critical temperatures of particles ignition, critical diameters and concentrations corresponding to their extinction are found. The theory of high-temperature heat and mass transfer and oxidation kinetics of carbon and refractory metals in oxidizing gaseous media has been improved. The physico-mathematical model has been developed, critical conditions of ignition and extinction of catalytic oxidation of hydrogen and ammonia on platinum catalyst have been determined. The theory of heterogeneous catalysis and flameless burning of gas-air mixtures with an admixture of combustible gas is developed. The influence of dc electric field on the characteristics of melting and burning of alkanes is studied. The alkanes melting retardation in dc electric field is found. The mechanisms of the electric field effect on melting and burning of alkanes are proposed.
