The peculiarities of reforming the tax system are investigated; the key problems of the tax system of Ukraine and ways of their elimination are determined; the strategic imperatives of the tax system in the context of its reform are set. A fragmentary analysis of the mechanism of the regulatory function of corporate profit tax is carried out; the fiscal efficiency of the corporate profit tax is determined; the foreign experience of taxation of corporate profits and proposed directions of its adaptation to domestic practice are analyzed. An estimation of the influence of taxation on foreign economic activity on the fiscal sufficiency of the State Budget of Ukraine was conducted.
