Methods of research: numerical prognostic hydrodynamic models of oceanographic processes in the marine environment, spectral model of wind waves, physical-statistical methods for prediction of ice and sea level regimes. An analysis of the system and methods for forecasting oceanographic parameters used in the forecasting practice of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Black and Azov Seas; existing physical-statistical methods for forecasting characteristics of the ice regime. A statistical analysis of wind-conditioned sea level fluctuations in the ports of the north-western area of the Black Sea is carried out. Numerous mathematical models adapted to the conditions of the selected water areas in the Ukrainian part of the Azov-Black Sea basin for solving forecasting problems of volatility in oceanographic parameters and the related test calculations were carried out to assess performance (adequacy) of the models under the conditions of the selected water areas of the sea. A procedure and a software package for reading re-analysis and forecast data of meteorological parameters of the GFS global numerical model over the Azov-Black Sea basin from the NOMADS web-service are developed.
