The study of the structure and mechanical properties of structural steels S355J2 and S460M has been carried out. It is shown that under the influence of the thermal cycle of welding, the mechanical properties of the metal change, namely, with an increase in the cooling rate of the metal W6 / 5, an increase in strength characteristics, and a decrease in the parameters of plasticity, and impact strength are observed. This behavior is due to changes in the structure of the metal, in particular, the formation of hardening structures.
