Theoretical and practical results 1. It has been experimentally established that upon complete conversion of the decomposition reaction, all of the liquid ethanol entering the thermochemical reactor is completely transformed into a combustible synthesis gas, the main components of which are hydrogen H2 (43%), carbon monoxide CO (34%), and methane CH4 (23%), and the calculated specific heat of combustion of synthesis gas is 28.79 MJ/kg. At the same time, for the production of 1 kg of synthesis gas, 4.0 MJ of heat energy is consumed. 2. It has been experimentally established that due to the presence in the synthesis gas of a significant amount of H2 the limits of ignition of the combustible mixture expanded, which ensured the engine operation at all loading modes with synthesis gas additives in a wider range of variation of the excess coefficient of air from 1.05 to 1, 18 At the same time, the combustion rate does not decrease, which, in turn, does not lead to an increase in the concentration of CH in the CO. Depending on the synthesis gas additive in all modes of operation, there is a decrease in the content of harmful emissions from the CO, namely CO 53,5%, CH at 55,1%. 3. It was experimentally established that with the application of synthesis gas additives obtained by thermochemical utilization of the heat of exhaust gases, the specific effective consumption of ethanol decreased by 20 ... 130 g / (kWh) (2.5 ... 12 4 %) In this case, the amount of energy that must be used in the reactor to produce synthesis gas is 50 ... 65% of the heat released from the exhaust gases in this mode of operation. Novelty. The efficiency of the use of ethanol in the form of synthesis gas additives for piston internal combustion engines and the possibility of realizing for this thermochemical utilization of the heat of exhaust gas has been experimentally proved for the first time.
