The purpose of the study is to develop the theoretical and methodological principles of rural land management in order to streamline the market land relations in Ukraine as a result of agrarian and land reforms, based on the use of modern methods of geoinformation and cartographic modeling of the parameters of socio-economic and ecological development of the agrosphere. Research methods - modern approaches and technologies of geoinformation and cartographic modeling of the state of land resources and their economic use were used in the work; methods of historical-geographical comparisons; mathematical and statistical processing of data on available land resources, the nature of their use and existing problems; methods of forecasting changes in the state of land use, population changes and medical and geographical situation in the countryside, etc. The following research methods were used during the implementation of the GDR: collecting, analyzing and generalizing statistical, stock, cartographic information, data on land resources and land use, labor resources and economic potential of rural areas, efficiency of agricultural production, social and economic problems of the village; correlation, factor and cluster analysis; economic analysis; geoinformation and cartographic modeling; land planning; abstract-logical and mathematical-statistical analysis; surveys and questionnaires, grouping and zoning, structural and geographic forecasting, etc. The research was based on existing approaches in Ukraine, the European Union and the world to solve problems of land management of rural territories, territorial planning, rural settlements development, rural land management, optimization of social status and life of rural population. The spectrum of the acute problems of rural territories -social, economic, ecological, land management - is determined.
