The purpose of the work was to identify the components of professional training and to develop a program for the formation of professional readiness for the future activities. During the work the empirical and theoretical methods were used, as well as methods of mathematical statistics in the form of determining the criterion of Pearson's consent to calculate the differences between the control and the experimental groups; and Student's coefficient was used to determine the probability of random deviations of student's success - future specialists in interior design and furniture design, in their specialty disciplines and their skills in carrying out tasks for real design projects. The state of formation of professional competence of the future interior designers and furniture designers of Khmelnitsky National University was researched. The method of formation of professional competence was developed for future specialists in the interior design and furniture design in the process of theoretical and practical training and the implementation of it in the educational process of the Department of Design of Khmelnytsky National University was made. Scientific and methodological recommendations for improving the formation of a professional competence of future interior and furniture design specialists in the process of teaching were developed.
