Goal of the research - to obtain "dose-effect" dependencies on the basis of the results of scientific monitoring of radiobiological effects of chronic ionizing radiation of reference species of plants in the ChNPP contaminated zones under different levels of external and internal exposure, suggested to be used for the development of approaches to the newest methodology of radiation protection of the environment. Research methods - methods of field observation; radiometric, spectrometric, biochemical, biometric, methods of mathematical statistics Radiobiological effects of chronic ionizing radiation on reference species of plants (Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh., Betula pendula Roth. і Pinus sylvestris L.) in the Chernobyl Exclusion zone were studied. Dose load assessment of the studied plants was performed by the values of the external and internal dose rate. Contribution of the internal dose rate to the total dose rate at the contaminated sites of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone varies in the range of 43-96 %; and at the most of sites, it is higher than the contribution of the external dose rate. At the contaminated sites of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, the main internal dose-forming radionuclide is 90Sr, the contribution of which to the internal dose rate is not less than 85 %. Changes in the functional state of cellular antioxidant defense system of Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh. were revealed. Probably, these changes are regarded to the adaptation process. Morphological effects of chronic ionizing radiation on the studied species of plants were not revealed. "Dose-effect" dependences were generated for the studied reference species of plants. It was revealed that the radioactive contamination in the Exclusion Zone now affects growth and development of biota objects no more than other negative environmental factors. Approaches and methods of the investigation of chronic ionizing radiation influence on biota objects, suggested to be performed with a goal of developing a system of radiation protection for the environment, were developed. Area of application - scientific and governmental institutions, aimed at solving problems of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and Zone of Unconditional (Obligatory) Resettlement.5481 Product Description popup.authors
