The system approach and general scientific methods of research are used in this work, namely: qualitative description, observation, abstraction, idealization, formalization, comparison. Main results: substantiated the conceptual foundations and essential characteristics of the advanced tactical, operational-tactical and operational-strategic commands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (principles, objectives, tasks, stages, contents, forms of training, technologies and terms of training); the expediency of introducing into the military education of Ukraine the structure of the system-forming elements of the training of military specialists in educational institutions of the NATO member states is substantiated and appropriate measures ("road map") have been developed.
