Laparoscopically operated 93 patients with laparotomic access to 43 patients. Endoscopic diagnosis and treatment was performed in 32 patients with Barrett's esophagus confirmed by the histological method and 34 with peptic esophageal stricture. The average duration of the disease was (50.9 ± 13.55) months. Most patients (70%) considered themselves ill during 2 - 10 years, 55 (40.4%) patients complained about more than 5 years. With the help of endoscopic and X-ray examination, all patients were given a differential diagnosis of the stenosis of the lower third of the esophagus to exclude the functional and neoplastic causes of dysphagia in patients with esophageal stricture. The study of remote results of operations was carried out in the period from 1 to 5 years after the operation.
