The purpose of the work is to study and systematize sources on archeology and history of Ukraine stored in the collection of the National Museum of History of Ukraine, the introduction of new scientific information about them as well as popularization of the archaeological collection of the museum. Methods of research - formal-typological, comparative-historical, historical-system, problem-chronological, and others like that. The results of the research work - the analysis and systematization of archaeological materials on research in the territory of Ukraine from the collection of NMU, which have not been sufficiently developed in previous periods, have been initiated. The scientific circulation was introduced and data on a number of collections of different periods - from the Paleolithic to the late Middle Ages - were made public. The worked out materials allow us to trace a number of regularities of the historical development of ancient and medieval history of archaeological materials.
