A different structure of J-aggregates has been discovered: the BIC ones have a spherical structure, and the TDBC aggregates are cylindrical. Due to the fact that the aggregates have a different structure, the delocalization length for the J-aggregates of the BIC is three times smaller in comparison with the J-aggregates of the TDBC, which results in significantly different quantum yields of luminescence and radiative lifetimes.
