Paton Electric Welding Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 The studies showed the possibility of creating portable X-ray television systems using small-format solid-state X-ray television sensors that provide precision high-sensitivity full-format X-ray testing due to multiple exposures during electromechanical scanning of the monitoring object, followed by digital processing and cross-linking of individual image fragments using microcontrollers and computer equipment. Digital radio-frequency transducers have been developed, on the basis of which studies of various body armor and other objects have been carried out. The developed technology of scanning local magnetization provided the transition from traditional methods of unidirectional magnetization to multidirectional, namely, to active search for defects, which allowed not only to increase the reliability of detection of defects, but also to increase the productivity of non-destructive testing several times. Compared with traditional methods of detection of corrosion damage, the proposed technology of low-frequency ultrasonic testing of process pipelines allows reducing the costs of diagnostics and, at the same time, minimizing the costs of removing the insulation of pipelines. The combination of thermal imaging and ultrasonic NDT allows for a preliminary assessment of the technical condition of the monitored facility, narrowing the testing zones and more effectively detecting internal defects.
