A compact coherent laser emitter is used to form speckles on the surface of the objects under their shearographic nondestructive testing. A controller that provides power and temperature stabilization of a laser diode has been made. The technical parameters of a laser emitting such as wavelength, radiation power, beam divergence and coherence length were determined. An automated shearographic system that includes a shearographic interferometer, a coherent laser emitter and a programmable thermal loading system has been developed. Nondestructive testing of composite honeycomb panels and multilayered metal structures showed high reliability of the results obtained by the shearography system.
