The purpose of the work is to increase the efficiency of the use and reliability of mobile plant machinery through the diagnosis and preventive replacement of aggregates with insufficient residual resources. Method of research - mathematical modeling; the methods of the theory of operations research, the theory of machine reliability and probability theory are used. The influence of periodicity of diagnosis and the threshold of preventive replacement on the probability of failure during the execution of the technological operation and the corresponding average production costs is investigated. In this case, the losses of the crop, the unit cost, the cost of diagnosing and the replacement of the aggregate (during preventive replacement or corrective repair) are taken into account. Methods of optimization of the boundary value of the diagnostic parameter of aggregates of plant machinery and periodicity of diagnostics have been developed.
