A mock-up of the equipment was tried out on Kryukov carrige car building plant. A limiting velocity is established for HFMT of welded joints made of steels 09G2S and St3sp. Is is shown that the welded joint qulity after HFMT can be assessed by measuring the microhardness of the deformed surface layer. Recomendations for HFMT are provided.
