The effectiveness of 6-month course of corticosteroid treatment was established in patients with acute diffuse myocarditis corresponding to the decrease of humoral autoimmune activity, morphofunctional heart state recovery and reduction of inflammatory lesions on cardiac MRI. We detected that dilated cardiomyopathy in comparison with chronic diffuse myocarditis is characterized by lower activity of cell and humoral immune response, more pronounced fibrotic changes of myocardium and significant decrease of longitudinal and circumferential global systolic strain.
