YURYEV NATIONAL ACADEMY OF AGRАRIAN SCIENCES OF UKRAINE popup.description2 In 2017, pollination of the source material of waxy maize of different genetic structures (four local population varieties, 15 first-generation homozygous recessive hybrids and four first-generation hybrids with a heterozygous state of the waxy gene) was pollinated by a haploinductor on an isolated plot and under isolators. A fairly wide range of variability in the frequency of yield of grains with a conditionally haploid embryo has been established - from 3.1 to 9.2% for pollinating by isolators and from 3.3 to 8.9% for free pollination. The average values of the investigated feature when pollinated under the isolators were significantly higher than with free pollination - 5.8% vs. 5.3%. Samples were selected both with stable high and stable low levels of grain yields with a conditionally haploid embryo irrespective of the pollination regime, as well as samples of the yield of grains with conditionally haploid embryos which depend on the type of pollination.
