Subject of research - psychological conditions, forms, methods and means of increasing the effectiveness of management activities of heads of units of the National Police of Ukraine. The purpose of the research is to theoretically substantiate and determine the psychological conditions that increase the effectiveness of the management activities of the heads of units of the National Police of Ukraine. Methods of research are selected based on the goals and objectives set in the work, taking into account its object and subject. To solve the tasks, expedient application of complex complementary methods: theoretical - analysis, synthesis, comparison, simulation, synthesis, systematization, study and analysis of the literature on the study and the regulatory framework of MIA of Ukraine; empirical - questionnaire surveys, psychodiagnostic methods, expert assessments, semi-standardized individual conversations); statistical methods (correlation analysis, analysis of the reliability of differences in mean values based on the Student's t-criterion). Obtained results: a monograph is prepared which highlights the psychological aspects of the work of the head of the police unit, such as the psychological peculiarities of the preparation and adoption of managerial decisions; leadership and managerial competence of the police manager; professional selection of candidates for service to the police and for managerial positions; motivation, stimulation and development of the personnel of the police organization; psychological principles of conflict situations management in subdivisions; teamwork psychology, etc. The questions discussed in the monograph will help police officers, staff members of staff, and practical psychologists to prevent conflicts, distress, manifestations of deviant behavior, professional deformation and other disadvantages in the activities of the staff of the National Police of Ukraine.
