The object of research is space weather, the components of which are the ionosphere and the magnetosphere of the Earth. Methods and equipment are based on algorithms and software developed by specialists of IRA NASU specifically to support the operation and processing of the data recorded at the electromagnetic observatory at UAS. The prototype of new digital ionosonde was developed and the HF complex for coherent sounding of the ionosphere at UAS-Palmer radio path was upgraded. Results and scientific novelty - an improved model that explains the behavior of the ionosphere in the Antarctic Peninsula taking into consideration the transport of plasma to ionospheric heights along the lines of force of the magnetic field caused by neutral winds was developed. The hardware and software on the Low Frequency Observatory have been upgraded. The database of accessible records of electromagnetic fields registered at UAS during the 21st and the 22nd Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition was collected. The results obtained are of great scientific importance, because they implement new methods of diagnostic as well as present the characteristics of global thunderstorm activity and ionospheric parameters.
