By alkali adsorption kinetic data two processes were detected: 1) rapid ion exchange of OH-acidic groups protons; 2) slow uptake of ions М+ and molecules МОН by coal with formation of intraframework ?-complexes of coal polyarenes with М+ cations, which becomes easier with RMOH and cation polarizability increase and which changes paramagnetic properties and spatial structure of coal. Structure changes intensity decreases with coal rank increase. Alkali intercalation decreases single electron concentration (at 1,1-1,9 times) that proves straight contact between МОН and coal radicals at molecular level. It was stated that associated pares "М+-reactivity centre" into coal framework promote thermoinitiated heterolysis С-О and С-С coal bonds with formation of precursor of nanoporous framework.
