Karazin popup.description2 New information on the patterns of geographic distribution of rare species of leeches entered listed in the Red Data Book of Ukraine. The genetic structure of reptile populations (European legless lizards and steppe vipers) is described. Signs of genetic impoverishment and inbreeding have been demonstrated. This confirms the negative effect of isolation on local populations of steppe vipers. The haplotype A of COI gene, which is responsible for the invasion of the horse-chestnut leaf miner in Ukraine, was revealed. In fruit flies, the ?-radiation affects trans-interactions of loci of homologous chromosomes due to changes in the frequency of asynaphysis. Ukrainian populations are characterized by large genetic diversity in the composition and frequencies of Y chromosome lineages due to intensive migratory flows that have shaped the genetic diversity of the population of modern Ukraine. Ukrainian surnames adequately reflect the structure of the population and are able to identify individual populations. The polymorphism of the CYP1A2 gene is the basis for genetic testing in the administration of drugs. Geographic movement increases the level of aggressiveness and reduces the level of empathy in human populations in Ukraine.
