Purpose: the development of scientifically based methods of selecting parameters, synthesizing and using new active dielectric media and systems that can have nonlinear dielectric and magnetic permeabilities. Research methods: a finite integration method, a method of well-matched absorbing boundary layers. Theoretical and practical results: mathematical and physical models of electromagnetic processes of propagation of electromagnetic waves in media with nonlinear parameters are developed; the obtained experimental stands and theoretical methods were used to prepare courses of lectures and laboratory works for students of NTU "KhPI". Novelty: the experimental stand on the study of the electrophysical properties of nanostructured ferroelectrics using pulsed electric fields was proposed and practically realized. For the first time, it was proposed to use nonlinear properties of the surface-mounted capacitor dielectric with a temperature coefficient of capacitance of type X7R in the undocumented mode of operation.
