In this paper we propose methods for calculating the technical characteristics of these devices, which would ensure the maximum increase of the steam-gas air torch above the earth's surface and the minimum concentration of harmful substances in the surface layer. An important problem is also the reduction of the harmful effects of toxic substances released during the exploitation of industrial baths intended for etching and electroplating of large-scale equipment of the defense industry of Ukraine. For its solution, effective devices for local ventilation of industrial premises such as on-board suction devices have been developed. The results of the research of technical characteristics of on-board suction plates are the basis for developing methods for improving the means of localization of gaseous hazards and improving the efficiency of their work.
