Karazin popup.description2 The research project is concerned with the electron density in the ionosphere, disturbances caused by various natural and anthropogenic sources, processes in near-Earth space that disturb the atmosphere, the ionosphere and the geomagnetic field. The research project aims at the development of a semi-empirical global-scale spatial-and-temporal real-time ionospheric model of disturbances; the validation of the model using various radio methods. An analytical review of the studies concerned with the empirical and semi-empirical models of the regular and disturbed ionosphere is presented. The model Ukraine-2013 is verified by using measurements of geomagnetic pulsations. A physical theory explaining the origin of terrestrial geomagnetic pulsations is developed. The multi-diurnal measurements of the ionospheric F-region parameters are obtained by using a ground-based ionosonde. A preliminary analysis of these data confirms the adequacy of the Ukraine-2013.
