Karazin popup.description2 The subject of research is physical phenomena and structural phase transformations at nano, micro and macro scale levels in volumes, near-surface layers and on surfaces of solids obtained through crystallization or condensation and subjected to a special thermomechanical processing, controlled thermal, plasma, or laser exposure. The research focuses on multi-scale and spacially-heterogeneous structures in metallics, particularly zirconium and its alloys, and composites "zirconium - intermetallic compounds". The authors conducted experimental and theoretical studies of fundamental physical and technological aspects of initiation and evolution multi-scale micro- and nano-structures in solids. The findings helped to understand peculiarities of formation of multi-scale structures under non-uniform conditions with exposure to multi-factor external gradient effect (thermal, plasma, and laser) in metals, particularly zirconium and its alloys, multi-element and multi-component materials (zirconium matrix with intermetallic inclusions). The spatial distribution of energy or particle deposition оn materials ensured implementation of structural phase changes, including creation of fluid, amorphous, and multi-structured media. The system of extremely intense pulse thermal and plasma effects in solids was developed, created and tested. Product Description popup.authors І. Середа В. Береснєв В. Кіріченко В. Куклін О.
