At this stage of the research, the authors studied thermal, plasma, and laser effect on structure and phase formation in solids (in alpha iron, consolidated oxide ceramics, and plasma nitride coatings), analyzed processes and described mechanisms of formation of stable or metastable phases and atomic configurations in the said solids, defined ways to adjust structural phase characteristics by changing external impact parameters, and described mechanisms of evolution of phases in condensed structures when exposed to different external factors.
