The classification of freight carriages is supplemented by combined type spring suspension. The main reason of the fracture of the side frames of the bogies was found. It is high values of longitudinal forces from the axle-box to the jaw of the side frames on sorting hills and in move under the influence of additional negative factors. The authors have developed, calculated and patented new constructions of the elements of the chassis of the freight car, have developed a technical solution for a bogie with rolling profiles of light frame elements, have developed a new design of the stand to study the tensely-deformed condition of the bogie. The computer model of the dynamics of a freight car is developed. Addictions of reduction of the resistance of the carriage of freight cars are established.
