The purpose of the work is to develop a theory of experimental regulation of the duration of stages of ontogenesis on the basis of the developed concept of epigenetic mechanisms of aging of experimental models of deceleration and increase of life expectancy. Research methods are experimental models of life expectancy regulation (model of calorie restricted diet (ROD), cyclic regimen of feeding (CRG) of the thyroxine model, culture culture method, biochemical methods for determining the activity of a number of enzymes, and immunological methods. The COD models revealed the relationship between the content of thyroxine and triiodothyronine in serum, body temperature, and average life expectancy of these animals. The induction of free radicals in animals with IG was observed in the background of decreasing or unchanged compared with the control variant of the activity level of antioxidant enzymes. Changes in pro- and antioxidant systems in the liver of rats with IG correlated with similar changes in these systems in serum, that is, there were systemic changes in pro- and antioxidants at the level of the whole organism. So, now there are different models of experimental regulation of life expectancy of animals. The very fact of the possibility of influencing the lifetime of experimental animals suggests that a theory of the duration of ontogenesis can be created.
