An object of study is the parameters of the ionospheric plasma and near-Earth space during natural perturbations. The work aim is to identify the properties of the ionosphere as a component of non-linear dissipative lithosphere - troposphere - ionosphere - magnetosphere system. The research methods are a geophysical observation, statistical analysis, empirical and theoretical modeling. A steady average 0.2 MHz increase in the F2 region critical frequency was established during a sharp increase in planetary seismic activity. The effect is manifested almost simultaneously at various ionospheric stations and in variations of the planetary ionospheric total electronic content. The possible influence mechanism of lithospheric processes on the ionosphere may be the flows of deep gases in the lower troposphere, causing changes in their conductivity and in the global electrical circuit as a whole. It is established that atmospheric electric field in local areas of at least 200-300 km2, including the large city areas, may be tens or hundreds times higher than background values and reach values of V/м. Such disturbances cause changes in the tropospheric conductivity of a large area and initiate a number of secondary processes in the atmosphere, ionosphere and magnetosphere of the Earth. The obtained results may be used for developing the empirical and theoretical models of the ionosphere, for estimation of the ecological consequences of natural and anthropogenic processes in the human condition.
