Khmelnitsky state university in Cherkasy popup.description2 Light emission diode technology has undergone a rapid development in the last 15 years, defining a steeply growing worldwide market that comprises small devices, smart phones, tablets, TV displays and lighting devices. Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have great potential of application as an alternative to traditional inorganic light sources with fabrication that is cheap, environmentally friendly and simple. Despite of significant advances in the area of organic lighting, the main principles and mechanisms of OLEDs emission are of great relevance. Considering the enormous potential of the modern organic light-emitting materials the main objective of our project is to investigate the principles of highly efficient color-tunable OLEDs. We should especially focused on such phenomena like the triplet-to-singlet conversion between the exciplex excited states and temperature-activated reverse intersystem crossing for the single molecules that are strongly enhance the performance of OLEDs. An additional challenge for this project is the development of the theory for the activation of inorganic perovskite-type materials by the organic dyes and exciplexes. Such hybrid devises are under development for this time but they have already proved themselves as the new generation of high-efficient light sources. Such hybrid LEDs combines the main advantages of OLEDs like the flexibility and widescreen futures together with the inorganic LEDs peculiarities like the high brightness and narrow emission wavelength that is tunable throughout the visible spectra. In this project we will combine the modern quantum-chemical approaches with the most resent experimental achievements from our laboratory and related groups abroad in order to provide the sustainable development in the field of organic and hybrid light-emitting diodes.
