The effectiveness of the pyrolytic conversion of valeric acid was evaluated by analyzing the dependences curves of the volatile product pressure on the pyrolysis temperature. The structure of surface complexes was investigated using infrared spectroscopy. Calculated kinetic parameters of the reaction of formation of symmetric dibutylketone indicate in favor of the concert mechanism of the reaction.
