The work purpose - development of a terahertz scanner that can be used in systems of control and security for remote non-destructive testing and visualization of content of letters and small parcels with the purpose of obtaining information about the presence in them of such materials as tablets, powders, objects made of ceramic, plastic, metal. Research methods - characterization of sources of radiation, determining optical characteristics of radiation detectors, mathematical modeling of the optical system, determining the electrical characteristics of integrated circuits. As result of this work, we developed a block diagram of a scanner, made linear receivers of terahertz radiation that are sensitive at a frequency of 140 GHz, identified the characteristics of the two sources of 140 GHz radiation, and developed a control unit of radiation sources. The obtained results allow us to continue the work to create the scanner in the terahertz range.
