The purpose of the work is to obtain new information on the differences in the morphology of moving ionospheric disturbances over Ukraine and Antarctica during periods of powerful geocosmic storms using the experimental data of the incoherent scattering radar of the Institute of Ionosphere (Kharkiv) and the ionosonde of the Antarctic station Akademik Vernadsky. Research methods are radiophysical methods of remote sensing: incoherent scattering of radio waves and vertical radiosonding. Spectral analysis of data obtained during the period of a strong ionospheric storm on November 14, 2012 was conducted with the purpose of revealing the features of the morphology of traveling ionospheric disturbances (TID) in high and medium latitudes. A study of the characteristics of TIDs over Antarctica and Ukraine was carried out before, during and after a strong geocosmic storm on November 13-14, 2012. It has been established that TIDs present in both regions both in quiet conditions and during geocosmic disturbances. Significant differences were observed in the TID periods for high and medium latitudes. The periods of wave processes over Antarctica are on average 50-100% greater than the periods over Ukraine. The amplitude of the absolute oscillations of the electron concentration on the day of the storm (November 14) over Antarctica decreased by approximately two times compared to the control day of November 12, 2012. During the perturbation over Ukraine, the phase velocity of internal gravitational waves (up to 2.5 times) significantly increased. The group velocity also increased: approximately 2.8 times. The wavelength increased 2.6 times.
