The purpose of the study is to formulate a theoretical and methodological concept and practical implementation of modernization of management technologies for economic development of settlements on the principles of economic efficiency, taking into account the social component and maximizing the use of internal development reserves. Research methods - system analysis, comparative analysis, local marketing, economic-mathematical, statistical and expert. Theoretical results - development of methodological bases for management of the development of territorial communities of the basic level of settlements with the use of municipal management technologies. Practical results - the possibility of using developed recommendations for improving the efficiency of management activities of state authorities and local self-government bodies. Novelty - for the first time a holistic concept of the mechanism of implementation of the hierarchical approach to the management of the development of settlements as economic systems functioning on the principles of corporate structures, based on the use of innovative management technologies has been formed. Scientifically grounded recommendations and methods have been developed: modernization of local self-government as the main institution for providing economic development of territorial communities of the basic level; improvement of the territorial basis of local economic development; analysis of economic potential of settlements; estimation of investment attractiveness of settlements; modernization of the structure of the municipal economy. The results of the research work are implemented in the practice of the Ternopil Regional State Administration, Kozivska and Chortkiv district councils of the Ternopil region.
