Karazin popup.description2 Objects of research: settlement of the Scythian time (Lazki Stavki-1), located in the district of Bilsk hillfort on the territory of the Batky village council of Zinkiv district of the Poltava region. The purpose of the research: the study of ash mound and space between ashhills in the northern part of the settlement. Tasks of researches: definition of features of cultural layers, stratigraphy, features of material culture, determination of types of main categories of finds, studying of zoo archeological material, definition of chronological signs of artifacts, establishment of time limits for the formation of ash embankment, description of archaeological objects. Summary report on excavations. The scientific information obtained during the excavation has considerably expanded our knowledge of the time of settlement in the nearest district of Bilsk settlement, the features of the location of residential and economic objects have been established. As a result of the disclosure of a large area (250 sq.m.), a presentable collection of artifacts has been formed, the dates of their existence have been elaborated, the entirely processed zoo archeological material is attributed, all categories of findings are attributed, first of all, ceramic ware and other clay products reflecting local traditions of a certain time population. An informational article was prepared for the collection "Archaeological Research in Ukraine". Materials of excavation are important for comparison with the data of earlier ash exploration of the territory of Bilks settlement, as well as other settlements of the Vorskla Basin and the tributaries of Psl, where, at the beginning of the early Iron Age, migrated populations from the western regions of the Ukrainian Forest-Steppe.
