G. Yanovsky popup.description2 Object - the blood of white rats with experimental pulmonary emphysema (PE). Aim - to find out the nature of violations of the state of glutathione-dependent detoxification system and oxidant-antioxidant system of the blood and to justify the possibility of their drug correction in experimental PE. Methods - experimental, biochemical, histological, statistics. New data on the appropriateness of the use of sodium succinate for the correction metabolicheskikh violations that have been identified in experimental PE. It was first established that in the conditions of PE the use of sodium succinate with the purpose of treatment leads to a significant decrease in the concentration of peroxidation products in heptanol and isopropanol fractions, indicating decreased activity of processes of free radical oxidation as in neutral lipids and phospholipids of erythrocyte membranes, reduction in the level of endogenous intoxication, promotes the reactivation of the redox system glutathione and restore the state of the antioxidant system: the increase in the activity of catalase, increasing the concentration of ceruloplasmin, increase in peroxide resistance of red blood cells, and as a consequence, the restoration of the pro/antioxidant balance in the blood. It is proved that the use of sodium succinate leads to increased sorption capacity of red blood cells and to improve the functionality of their membranes. The degree of corrective action of sodium succinate does not depend on the severity of emphysema and duration of use. A new method of correction of functional state of antioxidant system of blood in experimental PE by the introduction of experimental animals of sodium succinate in average therapeutic dose for 2 weeks, allowing you to restore the activity of glutathione reductase, glutathione peroxidase and catalase in blood parameters in healthy animals and to reveal the mechanism of direct influence of this drug on the functional status of antioxidant enzymes.
