It was found that strains of the Beijing family were detected in 52.5 % of patients with newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis, among which 46.8 % had isolates with a profile of 42435. The structure of the investigated population is represented by modern strains of micobacteria with dominance of strains of the first principal genetic group. In the structure of drug resistance of strains of mycobacteria, the multidrug resistant variants of the causative agent of tuberculosis were most often found among strains of the Beijing family - in 42.5 % of cases. Strategic directions of laboratory diagnostics of tuberculosis have been developeded, which provide for the revision of standard operating procedures for the diagnosis of tuberculosis, taking into account a new genotype-phenotypic methods, and clear coordination of the network of laboratories.
