M. Grishko Central Botanic Garden of the NAS of Ukraine. Comparison the results of field records on the short-rotation plantation (without irrigation) and in collection plot where regular irrigation was carried out during rooting through the first planting season shown significant differences in biomass growth. It can be noted, that appropriate moisture during rooting is critical for some clones. Clones of poplar and willow were introduced into in vitro culture and microclonal propagation of promising for bioenergetics clones was conducted. Laboratory collection of fast growing trees has been established, and currently includes 24 poplar and 8 willow clones, total more than 120 plants. Genetic transformation was carried out and three transgenic lines of hybrid black poplar Populus nigra x P. deltoides clone Gradizka were created with gene construct pCB002 containing a selective kanamycin resistance and beta-glucuronidase marker genes. Proteomic analysis of transgenic poplars was carried out, 12 proteins which showed differences in protein profiles were identified.
