The establishment of the estimated value of the monuments of the Museum Fund of Ukraine, based on the principles and criteria established at present, makes it impossible to determine the estimated value of precious stones, precious stones of organogenic formation, semi-precious and decorative stones, as well as collection samples of fossils of the geological past and meteorites. According to Instructions for SGCU, the only institution that is authorized to determine the value and issuing expert opinions, is optimal to develop the necessary principles and criteria. According to the decree of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine dated November 15, 2002 No. 647 "On approval of the list of state institutions, cultural institutions, other organizations, which is granted the right to conduct a state examination of cultural property", DGCU was granted the right. Based on the results of the performed researches, the main criteria of the quality of natural collection stones, fossils of the geological past and meteorites, which influence their further valuation, are determined. On the basis of comparing and comparing the experience of foreign colleagues, the permissible amount of natural and mechanical defects is established in relation to the area or volume of a collection of natural stones, which should not exceed 40 - 50%. The implementation of the developed scheme enables the creation of a methodology that regulates the actions of experts in conducting an independent examination-certification, identification of own and trade names, and the cost of samples of collectible natural stones, fossils of the geological past and meteorites.
