A research aim is a theoretical ground and experimental verification of pedagogical terms and methodology of forming of tastes of students of basic and senior school in an art on the whole and in the field of the separate types of art. Research methods: theoretical (analysis of scientific sources); empiric - searching-diagnostic (questionnaire, interview, testing, creation of problem situations, pedagogical supervision, study of documents of activity and others like that); прогностичні (a design and planning of process of художньо-естетичного education are in extracurricular activity; hypothetical estimations of effectiveness of introduction of pedagogical terms and methodology of forming of artistic tastes are with next quality and quantitative generalization of data); statistical (processing of data).Results: in obedience to a thematic plan and requirement specification the articles and materials are prepared to the manuscripts of monograph and methodical recommendations. Scientific novelty: - the criteria of effectiveness of process of forming of artistic tastes are worked out in relation to students and teachers; - diagnostic procedure is worked out, the present state of artistic tastes of students is specified and described in an age-old cut; - methodology (table of contents. forms and methods) of forming of artistic tastes of students is worked out in educational activity and in extracurricular time. A social effect is an increase of художньо-естетичної competence of teenagers, their possibility effectively and creatively to operate in future social practice, increase of level of readiness of teachers to pedagogical process control of художньо-естетичного education of schoolchildren in a modern sociocultural situation in the context of reformation of education.
