Purpose - the aim of the study was to determine the dependence of mortality on the time of the accident from the levels of chronic ionizing irradiation and time under the action generated by the explosion of the nuclear reactor of Chernobyl of radiation to account in the assessment of medico-demographic consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe. Research methods -documentary analysis, theoretical, scientific, demographic, statistical, software (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, MatLab), graphical, calculation and retrospective dosimetry. Results. Methodological and practical problems in the study of differentials in mortality of persons 1968-1986 year of birth who lived on RCT for 1986-2011 found that the study cohort for 26 years potentially lost 82.3 thousand years of life. In premature mortality for both men and women leading role for exogenous reasons. The average age of death for both sexes (27.7 ± 0.11) years, men (28.2 ± 0.12) years of age, women (25.9 ± 0.23) years. The average mortality rate for 1986-2011 by cohort for RCT were (2.26 ± 0.37) ‰ in Ukraine (1.74 ± 0.74) ‰. In premature mortality leading role (50.4 per cent) belongs to exogenous reasons, 43.1 per cent of somatic pathology, of 6.55 % symptoms and ill-defined conditions. The results of the analysis indicate that there is a serious problem of high mortality in relatively young people (under 45 years), living in RCT. Studies have confirmed the hypothesis of the existence of a significant variation of the mortality rates RCT Ukraine depending on the year of birth. According to calculations, the average effective dose for the dead contingent, which has been accumulated until the moment of death, is (18. 5 ± 0.1) mSv. The maximum dose was born in 1968 (36.1 ± 0.3) mSv; the minimum was born in 1986 (7.0 ± 0.7) mSv. Exposure of boys is higher than girls. Obtained in the course of the study, the results do not allow saying exactly whether there is increased mortality of the cohort study result of the influence of additional radiation doses obtained as a result of the Chernobyl catastrophe, or other factors. Research must continue. Introduction for 3 years: scientific and analytical articles and Memorandum of NAMS of Ukraine, Ministry of health of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, National Commission for radiation protection of Ukraine; published sections in the National report of Ukraine and the Report of Greenpeace to the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe, two monographs, 3 articles and 9 abstracts, received 4 of the implementation act, the draft guidelines.
