Objective: determination of the main factors of formation of radiation exposure of residents of the surveyed settlements of contaminated territories of Rivne oblast and estimation of radiation doses of the population at the current stage of the accident. Methods: spectrometric, radiochemical, mathematical. The comprehensive radiation-hygienic monitoring carried out in 2017 in seven settlements of Rokytne region of the Rivne oblast (villages Stare Selo, Vezhytsia, Perekhodychi, Drozdin, Berezove, Zabolottia, Grabun) showed this year's annual effective exposure doses of the population in the surveyed settlements of Rivne oblast has been formed at the expense of doses of internal irradiation, which range from 0.13 mSv / year to 0.32 mSv / year, which is below the criterion of contaminated territories. The WBC-monitoring in the spring of 2017 resulted decrease in levels of internal exposure in all the surveyed settlements, 1,2-1,7 times compared with 2014. However, the seasonal increase from May to October, 1,6-2,3 times due to the consumption of forest products by the population, first of all, mushrooms, which in this year harvested in abundance, led to an increase in doses to the level of 2014. It has been established that the main factor that generates a dose of internal radiation is the entry of Cs-137 into the body of inhabitants with such main food products as milk and forest products, primarily mushrooms that traditionally occupy a significant part of the diet in the Polissya region. The content of Cs-137 in the vast majority of samples of milk and mushrooms significantly exceeds the permissible levels (PL). The maximum content of Cs-137 in the collected milk samples is 384,7 Bq / l, which is 4 times higher than PL the one in dried mushrooms - 36,9 kBq / kg is 15 times higher than PL. The values of annual doses of external exposure of the population in the surveyed settlements (262-323 mkSv / year), calculated on the basis of the results of studies in 2017, are at the level of average values of the doses of external exposure to the population before the accident, obtained due to the natural radiation background (300-650 mkSv / year).
