The purpose of the work is to develop the physico-chemical principles of creation and methods of obtaining a new generation of metal-hydride and photocatalytic materials for hydrogen energy and chemical current sources. Methods of research - X-ray diffractometry, thermosensor spectroscopy, raster electron microscopy, mass spectrometry, reactive mechanical fusion, high-temperature diffractometry in real time; potential-dynamic method, photo electrochemical method, electrochemical method of polarization curves; adiabatic calorimetry. It has been established that Ti, Fe, TiC and Si as alloying additives to magnesium in an amount up to 10% by weight. allow obtaining such hydrogen adsorption and kinetic characteristics of the hydride phase of MgH2 mechanical alloys-composites, which provide the possibility of their practical use in stationary accumulators of hydrogen. 2-step sintering of a mixture of powders (LaNi3 + Mg + Ni) at temperatures of 650 0С - 1020 0С. The structure, composition and electrochemical characteristics of hydrogen sulfide sorbent alloys are investigated. The optimum conditions of sintering have been established, for obtaining alloys with characteristics acceptable for the practical application as a material of hydrogen sorbent cathodes.
