The parameters of the ignition zone of the fast reactor with a wave of nuclear burning were optimized. The ignition zone compositions were found which ensure a smooth self-regulated approach of such reactor to the stationary regime. 2. Primary radiation damage in alpha-Zr (HCP) and beta-Zr (BCC) was simulated. It was shown that the symmetry of a crystalline lattice influences a little the total number of point defects, produced in cascades, but essentially influences their clusterization. 3. The heterogeneous nucleation of gas bubbles in the liquid phase of the lead coolant was investigated. It was shown that defects present on a solid hydrophobic surface increase the intensity of gas bubble nucleation by an order of magnitude compared with case of an ideally flat surface.
