The purpose of the work: to form a holistic method of expert research of literary works of a scientific nature and to scientifically substantiate the tasks, subject, objects of the relevant expert research, the legal status of subjects, methods and algorithm for conducting such expert studies, as well as to justify the peculiarities of evaluating the results of expert researches of scientific works in Ukraine. Methods of research: represented by a system of interrelated philosophical, general-scientific and concrete applied ways and ways of knowing the properties of literary works of a scientific nature, as objects of intellectual property and forensic examination, as in the interrelation form the methodology of this research work. The main results: substantiated the essence and content of the main categories of expertise and expert research in the field of copyright related to literary works of a scientific nature; the tasks, object, objects and their qualifying attributes, as well as the list of questions of expert research of scientific works, are determined; the peculiarities of the legal status of forensic experts and the consistent order of expert research of literary works of a scientific nature; proposals were made to improve this type of forensic expert activity.
