I., Registration Date 15-03-2018 Organization National Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Education named after P.L.Shupyk popup.description2 The analysis of the current regulatory framework on palliative care for patients with severe non-curable illnesses in the terminal period of life has allowed the development of concepts and scientifically substantiated recommendations regarding the creation of a model and scientific approaches to the rational pharmacotherapy of pain syndrome and other pathological symptoms and disorders of the life-sustaining activity in patients with chronic incurable illnesses and limited life expectancy. Participation in scientific-organizational and scientific-expert activity within the Central Formulary Committee of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine will allow recommending the inclusion of modern effective and safe drugs from the classes of opioid and non-opioid analgesics, and other adjuvant action drugs for use in palliative and hospice medicine in the State Formulary. A draft of the first Ukrainian Formulary for the provision of palliative and hospice care was made. At the suggestion of the department, pharmaceuticals included in the State Formulary (Issue 9) were recommended for use in Ukraine for the provision of palliative and hospice medical care. There were developed and implemented proposals for the creation of the Formulary of Pharmaceuticals for the Provision of Palliative and Hospice Care. Reduced severity of symptoms in cancer anorexia and cachexia in palliative elderly patients in the terminal stage of malignant neoplasms; improved quality of life of palliative elderly patients will contribute to the reduced emotional and psychological stress in family members of palliative patients and their increased productivity and social activity.
