The increasing number of digital audio recordings led to the fact that during the investigation, detectives should work with the information contained in digital phonograms. Thus the technic and software "Fractal" was created for the examination of materials and means of digital and analog audio recording. The proposed technic has the necessary methodological support for the research of the information contained on analog and digital phonograms. Special software "Fractal" intended for identification research of analogue and digital sound recording equipment and diagnostic research of analog and digital phonograms. A proposal of automation the process of obtaining fractal scale factors during the identification research of digital audio recording equipment and diagnostic research of digital phonograms was formulated in this technic and software. The abovementioned proposal due to the lack of a visual representation of the probability of the error of the genus I dependence on the magnitude of the fractal coefficients in the accepted field of their existence. Inclusion of this option in the program should reduce the time and labor costs during the examination and increase the probability of expert decisions received.
